Uganda - The Coffee Gardens
Yeast Fermentation - Washed (Nyasaland, SL14, SL28)
This vibrant and process focused coffee is going to liven up any morning ritual. With this being an experimental lot from The Coffee Gardens, they are sharpening their sword in the fermentation game. We’re excited to support and help express their innovation and experimentation. With a new washing station built in 2022. They are investing in the future of coffee excellence at The Coffee Gardens.
Robust fruitiness is driving this cup forward, with florals and sweetness brought about by extended processing. This combination lends a complexity that will only unfold as the cup cools.
A combined 140 hours of fermentation takes place in 2 stages. Initially the coffee cherries see 100 hours in a tank covered by tarpaulin. Followed by pulping and a submerged 40 hour ‘signature fermentation’ before the drying process.
